John Woodman, owner of Foot Long Woody's Restaurant, along with Stevie D., Disc jockey for WCJX 106.5 Radio Station in Lake City, Kickin Kevin and Dave, from the Big 98 Radio Station from Live Oak, hosted an event for Evan and Cure Duchenne on August 9th.

Four bands entertained the crowd from 11 in the morning until 8:30 at night. The bands, Steady Habit, Roadhouse Live, Country Music singer Craig Hand, and K-9, were not only awesome musicians, they were each genuinely interested in supporting our cause. After signing autographs, posters and CDs, Craig Hand gave us the proceeds from his CD sales at the event. He has also put a link to Evan's donation page on his My Space. We will definately look forward to working with these musicians in the future.

The DJs did an excellent job as "celebrity waiters", donating all of their tips from the day. Foot Long Woody's served BBQ pork plates all day long, and donated part of the proceeds as well. Rainbow Birdland & Pet Center of Live Oak also came out to entertain the crowd with exotic pets. The giant albino Python was amazing!

On the following Friday, Foot Long Woody's and the DJs hosted an auction at the restaurant. The total amount of money raised from both of these events, was $3,272.00.

Wow! We are amazed by the support given to us by these people. They have touched our lives in ways that can not be measured. They are already planning the next event for Cure Duchenne.
