We are requesting donations to install an elevator for Evan in our home. We live in a stilt home in a flood zone. At 5, Evan can walk and even run a bit. But as he ages and uses his muscles, he will lose them. He can not climb stairs because doing so will rupture muscle cells and shorten his life expectancy. Evan can not go up or down the stairs that lead to and from our front door without one of us carrying him. Besides the gut wrenching feeling of watching him deal with another way in which he is different from all other children in his life, it is getting increasingly difficult to carry him up and down from the house safely. I am a school teacher and my husband operates a small gym in our town. We afford Evan's doctor bills and medicines with the help of change given to us in collection cans by the community. We have no other recourse to get an elevator for Evan with out a plea for help through this web site. Please, help us get an elevator for our little Evan and to lighten our load emotionally. Please click the "Donate" button to the right to donate directly into a n account for Evan's Elevator. Thank you!
